If success was all about setting inevitable and definite goals industrialized through visualisation, developing proper strategies and taking actions, could not we all attain what we wanted? I could teach the principles of visualisation and practical steps to thousands of people, but not everyone will act on these, and act consistently. You can wish for a thing, but you are only ready for it when you believe that you can accomplish this. The state of mind must be belief, not naturally hope or wish.

I have used the visualisation technique for any years now with hundreds of habitancy in training and consulting work with clients, and have come over scores of sincere hard working habitancy who would say that they find it hard to visualise, or the picture they see in their mind is not that exciting and clear and inspiring. When we unearth the reasons, these generally boil down to some of the values or limiting beliefs they have. Some months ago I was coaching a consultant friend of mine who had set clear goals for his business, but it naturally was not exciting fast enough. The consulting work he does involves quite a lot of trip away from home. Although he enjoys travelling and the kind of work he undertakes, we discovered as we dug deeper that his strong house values had indeed made him sometimes unhappy with his work, although consciously he (in business agreement with his wife) has always tried to ignore this conflict in the middle of his house values and work demands as unimportant. But somewhere in the back of his mind this did persist, and whenever his creative mind tried to visualise the future, his mind’s eye just refused to engage.

Travel Asia

Values are like emotional hot buttons that drive our behaviour. They are what we value as important in our lives. All of us regard values like ‘success’, ‘freedom’, ‘security’, ‘love’ and ‘happiness’ very differently. And it is the way we internally rank these values that conclude the kinds of choices we make, and the actions we take. Some might value material success over spiritual, while others might naturally couple on their spiritual well-being. Once we identify the specific value(s) that drive us and sass them, we can craft strategies that withhold these values, rather than strategies and values working in opposition to each other.

Beliefs fall into a different category, especially when these come to be self-limiting. When habitancy do not believe a goal is possible (like passing the driving test, for example), they feel hopeless. And when habitancy feel hopeless, they do not take the proper action. A someone may also believe that a goal is possible for others to achieve, i.e., habitancy can pass driving tests, but not possible for herself. When the someone believes she does not have what it takes to succeed, you’ll typically find a sense of helplessness. Contrarily, if one has empowering beliefs about what one can achieve, well, whatever is possible — remember, Mohammed Ali’s “I’m the Greatest” announcement came years before he won the world title!

Self-limiting beliefs, sometimes based on a particular taste or a casual remark, can hold one back for years. Roughly everyone has had the taste of mastering a skill in an area where they idea they had no ability, and being quite surprised at themselves when they overcame the limiting belief.

Your Beliefs Are Acquired, Not Inborn:

The good news about beliefs is that all beliefs are learned. They can therefore be unlearned, especially if they are not helpful. When you came into the world, you had no beliefs at all – about yourself, your religion, your political party, other people, or the world in general. Just as you once shed your belief that Santa Claus or tooth fairy was real, you can shed any belief, or obtain new beliefs if you want to.

In my coaching work, I have been working with a gentleman (we will call him Jim) who has been, what I would call, a prosperous businessman. At sixty-six, he runs a house business, with a turnover of a slightly over a million pounds. On the surface, he is happy – he makes a decent living from his company which is managed by a Chief executive and his team. But somewhere in his mind, there is a long unhappiness that his company was not growing over the years. He has had his close circle of friends desert him as they grew their businesses and some of them became multi-millionaires. They grew up together, spent their youths together, set up company together, and went to the same golf clubs. Suddenly in the last ten years, Jim noticed he was getting cold shouldered by some of them as they had moved on to being friends with more successful, richer people.

Losing his friends and self-esteem, Jim invested all the time and finance he could specialist in his company in the past three years, wanting to expand his business. He has worked intimately with his Chief executive and management team to push for company increase and expansion. But nothing has indeed made much of a variation in their company – Jim’s company commerce Diy tools for well known international brands. Competition has been stiff as manufacturing moved to Asia and Eastern Europe. Jim’s company has had to work harder and harder to stay where they were. He had no doubt that his management team had done all they could.

It turned out some of his friends have ridden on this wave of global change and moved their output to China, and that is how they grew their company several-fold, while Jim saw that same change a block to his business. Jim did not want to take risks. He likes his management team because they run the company in the way he ran it for two decades, and they do not take risks. Although Jim pushes them to expand, he subconsciously likes it when they come back with the explanation that times are difficult with competition from the emerging countries.

All his life Jim has valued safety and security, and avoided risks. Back in his teen years, he joined horse-riding and football. A couple of times he came home slightly injured. His loving mom who had his best in her heart always advised him not to do those risky sports. He will be no good in those.

In his later years, Jim would go to the skiing slopes of Swiss Alps and would spend his days there sipping wine, while his wife would be go skiing with their children.

Jim had managed his whole company with this particular motto: do not get hurt; do not take risks so that you do not fail. Be safe!

Once he realised how a few childhood incidents had such a grip over him throughout his life, it was easy to make a change – the safety guidance he got in childhood was no longer relevant to run his business. And one of the first things he has done in the past few months is to hire a dynamic Ceo who is a risk-taker and has a proven track report of growing businesses he managed.

Changing Beliefs:

Negative beliefs can be changed indeed through changing the internal dialogue that goes on in our mind constantly. There are seven easy steps in the process:

1. State the belief (‘I am hopeless in remembering names’).

2. obtain evidence: allow your ‘other self’ (our internal dialogue always has two personalities complex – commonly ‘self’ and ‘the other voice’) to obtain as much evidence based on taste and reality to counter the belief statement. ‘Don’t you remember any names?’ ‘Do not you remember names of twenty of your friends’?

3. Seek alternative explanation: if the evidence in the second step was not strong enough to disprove all the arguments (which confirm the belief that ‘I am hopeless’), are there alternative explanations – ‘I commonly cannot remember the names when I meet habitancy for a short time’.

4. What are the consequences (of having the belief)? Is that serious?

5. If the belief is still strong, ask the question: what is the use in retention this belief? Is there any inevitable value from retention this belief? If not, it is better to change it.

6. What performance can you take to enhance the situation? Write them all down.

7. Make an performance plan.

If Visualisation Guaranteed Success There Would Be Six Billion of Us on This Planet

Nobody likes to be misled, especially by population they trust or have an anticipation will do the right thing, anyone that is. Fraud and corruption can be a blow to the self-image of capable managers and their belief in their quality to deter or detect a fraudulent scheme. More so, they can have a negative impact on an organisation’s brand, image and reputation, organisational morale and where the loss is large – significantly impact the lowest line.

In a new study of fraud in Australian organisations, 84 percent of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with the proposition that fraud control is a governance issue.

Travel Asia

Corporate governance is an whole culture that sets and monitors behavioural expectations intended to deter the fraudster. As part of the preparing of sound corporate governance, it is now clearly approved that an organisation should formulate a fraud and corruption control strategy. straight through the improvement and implementation of the strategy, compliancy with anti-fraud and corruption control practices can be promoted, maintained and instances of fraud and corruption control non-conformance identified and dealt with quickly.

What is a fraud and corruption control strategy?

It is a uncut summary of key elements that the organisation has introduced to prevent, identify, manage, study and deal with fraud and corruption exact to its own circumstances. according to the Australian approved As8001-2003 , although an organisation’s approach to its strategy will be dependent upon its size, diversity, geographical spread and the manufactures in which it operates, the approved recommends that a strategy consist of a whole of elements. some of these elements are discussed below:

-	Fraud and corruption awareness – How does the organisation educate their staff and stakeholders about how fraud and corruption occurs and what to do if it is discovered? This is a key element as fraud surveys have clearly demonstrated over time that the majority of frauds are discovered by staff and that whistleblowers are also an important source of information.

-	Reporting of fraud and corruption – Is there a formal reporting process? Does senior management and the Audit and Risk management Committee get told of all incidences ? If all instances are not recorded centrally, how does management collate the size and breadth of the problem and effectively manage it ? Also importantly, if the instances if fraud and corruption are not reported to the Audit and Risk management Committee, how do they monitor the carrying out of senior management in managing the risk?

-	Fraud and corruption risk assessment – Identifying a consolidate of fraud risks in your firm risk assessment or firm risk management process is far from adequate. An organisation should not rely on management alone to come up with all inherent risks as there may be a knowledge gap, a reluctance to recognize the existing weaknesses, inadequate allocation of time to discuss the issues or lack of a persistent inquisitor to ask the tough questions and ensue up. So, think having person involved who thinks like a fraudster and has experienced a broad range of fraud and corruption issues who can add real value to the process. The insights concerning risks and process weaknesses can be invaluable.

-	Whistleblowing – How does your organisation safe whistleblowers? Does it encourage anonymous reporting ? Whistleblower programs allow employees and others to description concerns-including those about corporate fraud-and can allow the management and/or the Board to take early corrective action. Whistleblowing lines are now becoming more important in the private sector.

-	Pre-employment screening – Is there a consistent process of screening over the organisation ? How thoroughly are background checks, such as prior employment history, tertiary qualifications and memberships of professional associations, conducted ? Does it cover only full-time employees or consist of contractors ?

-	Regular reviews of internal controls – productive internal controls cannot be both prosperous and static. They should be monitored and evaluated for improvements and changes made considerable by changing conditions. The scope and frequency of evaluations of the internal control structure depend on risk assessments and the uncut perceived effectiveness of internal controls. As an example, under the Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, management is charged with performing an assessment at least annually. Anti-money-laundering procedures employed by financial institutions are a good example of a proactive process designed to deter fraudulent transactions from taking place straight through a financial institution.

Commonwealth Agencies have clearly led the private sector in developing fraud and corruption control strategies. This is in general because it is mandated under the Financial management and responsibility Act 1997 that all budget-funded agencies, and relevant Commonwealth Authorities and fellowships Act 1997 funded bodies, put in place practices and procedures for productive fraud control. The Commonwealth Fraud control Guidelines, outlines how each group must have a fraud control plan.

What are the trends and issues that organisations should be aware of?

Patterns of behaviour are clearly emerging as both the cost and complexity of technology decreases and facts is shared straight through the internet in real time. Although more original frauds continue to be perpetrated against organisations, there are also a whole of new or increasingly important challenges. Some of these challenges include:

-	Identity fraud and theft – Criminal syndicates ensue the money and as such identity fraud and theft is fast becoming a considerable problem as they target individuals and organisations. The quality of new forgeries of identification documents such as driver’s licences, birth certificates and even passports has highlighted the need for biometric identification solutions such as fingerprints, voice patterns, retinal images, facial or hand geometry to be seriously thought about by organisations.

-	Cyber-crime – The role of ‘phishing’ and the use of ‘trojans’ to illegally perforate computers to accumulate confidential information, including banking details, shows no signs of abating. As an example, over 11,000 unique phishing assault websites were reported to the Anti-Phishing Working Group in May 2006.

-	Cheque fraud – this continues to be one of Australia’s most prevalent frauds affecting businesses. It involves the alteration of an existing cheque to a new payee and sometimes an altered amount.

-	Gambling – There is an inextricable link between gambling addiction and fraud. As the chance to partake in various forms of gambling grows, the incidence of fraud will also continue to grow. Refer to the escape box for some new Australian examples.

What can your organisation do ?

Senior management tasked with governance responsibilities should undertake a narrate of their approach to fraud and corruption control. It is recommended that they at least benchmark your organisation against best institution recommended by the Australian approved As8001-2003 – ‘Fraud and Corruption Control’ in order to settle gaps that need addressing. This will be the blue print for going forward.

Key areas of the fraud and corruption control strategy that should be emphasised and undertaken should include:

-	championing a pro-active and approved approach to fraud risk management over the organisation;

-	reviewing the organisation’s whistleblowing procedure and procedures and where one does not exist, seriously think the inclusion of an anonymous reporting line to augment the reporting structure; and

-	educating staff about fraud, how it is detected and importantly the organisation’s reporting procedures.

Conclusion

Emerging technological trends, the globalisation of manufactures as well as the growing impact of the prevalence of gambling should be of concern to Board members and senior management in all organisations, both large and small. They all generate risks that need to be permanently managed.

Those who commit fraud and corruption, either internal or external to the organisation, are often attuned to principles and control weaknesses and therefore target least points of resistance.

To deal with these fraud and corruption risks, organisations must look to how they are allocating their resources and seriously think the need for a uncut strategy.

Case Study – Whistleblowing

Fraud awareness training was provided to all staff in a division. Subsequent to this training, the Financial Controller was sent an e-mail with the sender’s details disguised although indicating that they had attended one of the fraud awareness sessions. The e-mail contained detailed allegations concerning anomalies with a senior manager’s use of a firm credit card.

A initial narrate was undertaken of the credit card statements that revealed personal purchases of clothes, meals, accommodation, dating services and books over an eighteen-month period that were all fraudulently misrepresented on the card statements as firm associated expenses. Although the card statements were countersigned by other manager, the manager later admitted trusting the senior manager’s explanations for the purchases.

The senior manager was in a key governance position within the organisation and was subsequently dismissed.

Case Study – False invoicing

A Finance Director with responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region travelled regularly. An anomaly with his expenses led to a supplementary investigation of his activities. A link was identified between the name of an Australian based firm of which he was a Director and a firm based in Malaysia that had received consulting fees authorised by the Finance Director.

Further investigation revealed four fellowships in dissimilar Asian countries that had received consulting fees based on bogus projects. As a ensue of the investigation, it was proven that more than 50 invoices were prepared and subsequently signed off by the Finance Director at an Australian Dollar equivalent just below his delegation limit.

International firm searches revealed he was a Director and Shareholder in each company. Over Aud2 million was recovered.

It was also revealed that the each year allocation for such consulting expenses was 0,000 when the Finance Director joined. In the first year, he increased the allocation to .8 million. He therefore budgeted for his own fraud.

Examples – Gambling motivated fraud

.1 million – Accountant defrauded clients’ trust funds. Spent 937 days out of 7 years gambling at the Crown Casino.

.3 million – Claims officer reopened claims files and made out 1,003 cheques to fictitious 3rd parties over a period of 10 years. Most of the money was lost straight through gambling.

.3 million – Merchant Banker in an investment bank wrote out 76 cheques in erasable ink over four years, altering payee to own benefit used to gamble.

million – Bank manager by unauthorised Eft’s. Racehorses.

.57 million – Financial Adviser.

million – general manager of a transport company. Unauthorised Eft’s. Racehorses.

.5 million – Two Managers of a credit Union. Poker machines.

4,000 – Financial Controller of a Hotel. Roulette.

,000 – Carer of population with a disability. Poker machines.

From 1994 up until the year 1997, the Ford Motor enterprise sold the Ford Aspire. This was a subcompact car that has been made ready with two options as per the amount of doors. One held three doors while the other one held five doors. The whole body of the Ford Aspire was crafted by the Kia Motors enterprise with headquarters in South Korea. The engine as well as the engine components was from the Mazda automobile corporation located in Japan. It is very intelligent to note that this vehicle has been sold and marketed as the Kia Avella in Asia. However, if you travel to Japan and Australasia, you would be surprised to find out that the Ford Aspire is known there as the Ford Festiva. It is just one vehicle any way it has been sold under distinct names.

The median fuel cheaper for the Ford Aspire is some 30 miles per gallon which is quite a distinct amount from what the by hand says. The by hand claims that it can take up to 45 miles per galloon. Aside from that intelligent fact, the Ford Aspire is also very much favored for parallel parking. Also known for their resistance to submit to mechanical breakdown, these Ford Aspires have been known to have the capacity to run in excess of some 200,000 miles without having to experience major repairs.

Travel Asia

Upon its introduction in 1994, the Ford Aspire held a five speed by hand transmission as well as an automated transmission. This vehicle is a front drive car. It commonly comes with a 63 horsepower engine with four cylinders. For the two-door model, the Ford Aspire sports fog lights, a rear spoiler as well as distinct types of seats made available. As per the Ford Aspire that sports four doors, it holds a power rack and pinion steering. Straight through the years, many changes have been done to the Ford Aspire. The list includes the removal of the front spoilers, and adding in of body-colored window moldings, rear spoilers, fog lamps, tachometer, a unique instrument cluster, extra seat fabrics, extra door trim fabrics, and town roof pillars. There also are changes like new front bumpers, new rear bumpers, headlamps, turn signals, tail lamps, and wheel covers. Its originate has been proven to work well in allowing a fairly large amount of cargo. If the rear seats are folded, the cargo is vast greatly.

The World condition club (Who) recently sounded a global condition alarm in response to a new threat that has been emerging in any regions, particularly Asia. This threat is the avian influenza, more generally known as bird flu, which is an infectious diseases that affects only birds…until recently.

What exactly is bird flu?

Travel Asia

Bird flu is an infectious disease caused by any subtypes of the Influenza A virus, which is known to influence birds, particularly migratory birds, ducks and chickens. Bird flu is also reportedly known to influence pigs and ducks although these animals only serve as carriers and are not known to exhibit symptoms of the disease. Migratory birds, in general, are equipped to cope the virus. They do not get sick but they have the quality to contaminate other birds in areas they migrate to. This is crucial factor in the spread of disease because migratory birds voyage great distances, often from one country to another.

When did bird flu start?

Bird flu is not a new disease. First discovered in Italy in 1878, it was initially called “fowl plague” because it largely affected chicken livestock. However, it was only in 1955 that the Influenza A virus is the cause of bird flu. Since then, any subtypes of the Influenza A virus has been discovered in about a hundred bird species.

According to research, wild waterfowls, particularly ducks, are the most coarse carriers of the disease. The ducks, however, do not get sick from it. It was discovered that gulls, waterfowls and shorebirds are natural “reservoirs” of the bird flu virus. These animals appear to have developed antibodies to fight against the virus. Other bird species, however, have not developed this immunity to the virus.

Symptoms of bird flu

Birds with mild forms of avian influenza can exhibit ruffled feathers and poor egg production. Birds with developed or greatest forms of the disease may show signs of excessive shedding, respiratory infections and a swollen head. When the disease worsens, death commonly comes within 48 hours. This is because bird flu not only affects the respiratory systems of birds but also other tissues and organs, causing major hemorrhaging.

History of bird flu outbreaks

In the 1980s, bird flu outbreaks in chickens and birds occurred in Scotland, England, Canada, Germany, United States, Australia and Ireland. Again in the 1990s the same countries, with the irregularity of Germany and Scotland, had outbreaks. This time, Italy, Pakistan, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and Chile joined them. However, these outbreaks were small-scale; and extremely pathogenic outbreaks are rare.

Then in 1997, a major outbreak of bird flu occurred in Hong Kong, which left 18 population infected and six population killed. In response to the outbreak, the Hong Kong government killed Hong Kong’s entire poultry population, which was estimated at 1.5 million. Many believe that this rapid response to the bird flu outbreak was the best solution and helped avert it from becoming a pandemic.

To conclude if a bird flu virus is extremely pathogenic, eight chickens in the middle of four and eight weeks old are inoculated with the infectious virus. If 75 percent of the samples (six chickens) die within eight days, the virus is considered to be very pathogenic. In addition, a extremely pathogenic virus will show a distinctive sequence of amino acids settled at the cleavage site, the Ha part of the chain.

Many travelers shop in Asia because they often find better bargains there. It is true that honest salespeople abound in Asia. But like elsewhere, there will all the time be a few ‘sales-predators’ who try to overcharge misinformed tourists.

If you paid for a -scarf, your only damage would probably be some teasing from your travel companions. But if you were to pay 0 for a 0-camera, would you still remember your Asian vacation fondly?

Travel Asia

Here are 3 steps to identify a sales-predator and counter his sales tactics. These are especially useful if you plan on getting big mark items.

1. Generate a list of desired models, and check their prices back home.

Just how does one get ripped off while shopping in Asia? Well, plainly turn up without knowing the specific items you want, or their market prices. Unethical salespeople love tourists who walk into their shops and ask vague questions like:

a. “Do you have a point-and-shoot camera that is …?” or

b. “Could you advise a movable hard-disk …?”

Sales-predators know they could mark up prices on these customers, who are unlikely to know if they are being overcharged. So knowing what you want and the market prices helps. Do your homework. Before arriving in Asia, check the prices of items online or at your neighborhood store.

2. Trade on your territory, not on the salesperson’s.

The moment a sales-predator knows that you have done your research, his next strategy is to take the ‘battle into his territory’. How does he do this? He will say something like, “Well, we have fulfilled, selling that model, but let me show you something much better …!”

At this point, you ‘enter his territory’ because you may not know the market price of the item he is going to show you. And if you like the item enough, he might just quote you a price to his advantage.

To counter this, go down your checklist and ask if he sells the next item on your list. If he repeatedly says he doesn’t have the items you want, it is time to leave the shop. There is all the time an additional one shop down the road. So don’t feel the pressure to say ‘yes’ too quickly.

3. identify the ‘upsell’ strategy and don’t fall for it.

Often, after a price has been agreed and the cost imminent, the sales-predator will try to ‘increase his margin’. “You know, we’ve got a amazing pair of woofer speakers that go superbly with your Mp3 player,” he would say. “Let me show you how nice they sound.” He whips up some audio equipment, mutes all other devices in his shop and plays a hypnotic tune using the expedient you have just agreed to buy.

If you really, verily like the add-on, by all means buy it. But take it from me: the add-on is likely a brand you have never heard of and marked up quite substantially. Beware of this upsell tactic. If the item is truly that great, nobody will need to try so hard to sell it.

I have been burnt before and I know that dishonest salespeople are capable of doing the things mentioned above. But now that you have got the inside story, go and beat those sales-predators at their own game. Then pay it send by sharing your wisdom at online forums. You can make shopping in Asia a amazing experience. For yourself and for those visiting after you.

Moving overseas is both an intriguing chance but also one full of caution. The convert that your house will perceive can be difficult, particularly for children who are leaving their familiar surroundings. When inspecting a corporate relocation that involves children, you might also think removalists that have a broad range of services, particularly those that have a well prepared children’s program. This just might overcome some of the natural concerns they may feel.

Moving to Malaysia is no exception. Your children will have many questions such as where is Malaysia, what will I be able to eat there, do they speak English, will the weather hot or cold, will I make friends? Here is a quick reference to help you along the way:

Travel Asia

Malaysia – Where is it?

Malaysia is in South East Asia and has two parts – Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia. About 22 million habitancy live in Malaysia, most are Malay, but about one-third are Chinese, Indian and other ethnic backgrounds. The capital is Kuala Lumpur or Kl.

What’s the weather like?

Malaysia has a tropical climate. This means that it is hot and humid most of the time. However, to cool things off it also rains for part of the day, often in the afternoon. November to January are especially rainy months. Malaysia has two seasons – the rainy season and the dry season.

Excuse me, what did you say?

The two official languages of Malaysia are Bahasa Melayu and English. With other nationalities living there, Mandarin, Cantonese and Tamil are also spoken. Bahasa is based on the Malay language and often the words are spoken exactly how they look. Many children learn Bahasa and speak with their Malay friends. Your house might also have an amah or live-in maid and that will help learn new words and phrases.

How will I get around?

Many of the local habitancy voyage in their own cars. You can take a taxi or a bus if you wish. The taxis are cheap and air-conditioned – great for the hot and humid weather.

Making new friends

As you get to know kids from other countries you might try new foods and new games. You will also learn about their customs and is respectful to honour those customs. For example, when you visit your new Malaysian friends, remember to take your shoes off at the door. You should not touch another person’s head or hug and kiss in public.

Places to visit

You will never be bored and here are some of the attractions to be enjoyed:

Sunway Lagoon is a theme park with a water slide and great fun to splash around
The Mines Wonderland gives you a break from the heat and has an ice-skating rink and a snow-making machine
Golden hamlet Cinemas show overseas films and serve hot popcorn and chocolate dipped ice cream
Batu Caves are very large caves outside Kl that comprise Hindu temples. There are lots of steps going all the way up to the temple and lots of monkeys to see.
Central market is the place to buy all sorts of Malaysian souvenirs, arts and handicrafts.
Taman Negara is about 3 hour drive from Kl and is one of the world’s oldest rain forests. There are many trails for hiking and finding many plants and animals. You can also go white water rafting and fishing.
Cameron Highlands is where many things are grown in Malaysia. This includes vegetables, tea, roses and strawberries. It is a great place for a weekend trip because it also has parks, waterfalls and shopping.
Fraser’s Hill is another good weekend retreat. Here you will find jungle walks, waterfalls, horse riding trails and even a roller skating rink.

What am I going to do?

The most favorite sports are football (soccer), badminton and cricket. Many of the country clubs have sports facilities.

Kl junior athletics is for children between 4 and 14 years old while there is a children’s cross country running event called the Hash that normally takes place through rubber plantations.

Kids Sports offer two operation centres, one in Kl, the other in a suburb called Bangsar. They offer great entertainment including gymnastics, aerobics, dance, computer games and many other fun activities.

Malaysia has many festivals and holidays because they have diverse cultures.

Hari Raya Puasa is enjoyed by Muslims after a month of fasting while Ramadan. It begins by praying in brightly decorated mosques and then families and friends visit to celebrate, enjoy each other’s business and eat lots of great food.
Chinese New Year is the most leading festival in the Chinese community. Marking the first day of the Chinese calendar it begins with a reunion evening meal of house members. Ang Pow gifts of money in red packets are offered to children by the elders. Lion and dragon dances and clanging cymbals are also a big part of the celebrations.
Deepavali, paramount by the Hindus symbolising the triumph of goodness over evil is also known as the Festival of Lights. Special clay lamps filled with oil and wicks light up Hindu homes and a visit to the temples is former on Deepavali morning. Of policy Special Indian foods are all the time served.

What’s there to eat?

You will enjoy many new foods in Malaysia and the great thing is that it you can any type of food.

Roti Canai is a pancake served with plain curry sauce or can be wrapped in meat or vegetables. Satay is a small kebab of chicken, beef or mutton and served with a rich peanut sauce. Of course, you will find some of your home country food ready in Malaysia. Other dishes are chicken curry, rendang, rice with coconut milk and many exotic but tasty fruits.

Don’t’ worry you can still have some of your favourites like McDonald’s, Domino’s, Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Just remember that Muslims and Indians eat with their right hand and Muslims do not eat pork.

You are going to a country with many things to see and do. You will make many new friends, eat new foods, see new things, learn about new customs and maybe learn a new language.
